Gefle Porslinsfabrik (Gefle Porcelain Factory) was founded in 1910 in the east of Sweden. It was active until 1979 and became known for its ceramic artware and utility goods. Well-known designers such as Arthur Percy, Eugen Trost, and Lillemor Mannerheim all worked for the company.
Arthur Percy (1886–1976) was one of Sweden’s leading ceramic artists in the 20th century. After his art studies and early working years, he designed for the Gefle, Upsala-Ekeby, and Karlskrona factories in the 1920–1940s. Arthur was a prominent designer of tableware series like Hyacint, Rubin, and Vinranka. His artistry is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
